How My Pantry and Co. collects, uses and looks after your information when you shop with us.

Last updated 24 September 2026

Who we are

My Pantry and Co. is an independent food retailer selling premium imported groceries — pasta, sauces, biscuits, chocolates, sweets, cereals, teas and pantry staples — for delivery across our coverage areas. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” mean My Pantry and Co.

We are responsible for the personal information you share with us through this website and through our WhatsApp ordering channel. If anything here is unclear, ask us — the contact details are at the bottom of this page.

Information we collect

We ask for what we need to get your order to you, and not much else.

Information you give us

  • Your name, phone number and WhatsApp number.
  • Your delivery address and city, along with any landmarks or delivery notes you add.
  • Your email address, if you email us or sign up for updates.
  • The items in your order, your chosen delivery method and any special requests.
  • Anything else you choose to tell us in a message — an allergy, a preferred delivery window, a gift note.

Information collected automatically

  • Basic technical information from your browser, such as device type and the pages you visit, used to keep the site working and to improve it.
  • Your basket, which is saved in your own browser so it survives a refresh. It stays on your device and is not sent to us until you place an order.

How we use your information

  • To confirm stock, pack your order and deliver it to you.
  • To contact you about your order — usually on WhatsApp — with updates, delivery arrangements and payment details.
  • To keep a record of orders for our accounts and for customer-service history.
  • To answer questions and to handle complaints, returns and refunds.
  • To understand which products people are asking for, so we can stock the range better.
  • To send you occasional updates or offers, only if you have asked to receive them.

We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling.

Ordering through WhatsApp

Most orders are placed and confirmed in a WhatsApp chat with us. When you send an order, your message, phone number and WhatsApp profile name are visible to us in that chat, and the conversation travels over WhatsApp's own service.

How WhatsApp itself handles your data is governed by WhatsApp's privacy policy, not ours. If you would rather not use WhatsApp, email or call us instead and we will arrange your order that way.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information, and we never share it for someone else's marketing. We pass it on only where it is needed to run the shop:

  • Delivery riders and courier partners, who receive your name, phone number and address so they can find you.
  • The service providers who host our website and store our order records, under agreements that require them to keep your data secure.
  • Banks or payment providers, where a transfer or card payment is arranged.
  • Professional advisers or the authorities, where the law requires us to disclose information.

Cookies and site storage

We keep this simple. The site uses your browser's local storage to remember your basket between visits, plus the standard technical cookies needed for pages and forms to work.

We do not run advertising trackers here. You can clear this storage at any time in your browser settings — your basket will simply start empty next time.

How long we keep it

We keep order records for as long as we need them for our accounts, our tax records and any later questions about an order — usually a few years. WhatsApp conversations stay in our chat history unless you ask us to clear them.

Marketing contact details are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove them.

Keeping your information safe

Order records are held in a secured database, our admin area is password-protected, and access is limited to the people who actually run the shop.

No system is perfect, so we never ask for card PINs, full card details or passwords over chat. If anyone claiming to be us asks you for those, stop and call us on the number below.

Your choices and your rights

Under Nigerian data protection law, including the Nigeria Data Protection Act, you can ask us to:

  • Tell you what personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct anything that is wrong or out of date.
  • Delete information we no longer need to keep.
  • Stop sending you marketing messages, at any time.

Message or email us and we will deal with it. We may need to confirm who you are first, usually by checking details against a recent order.

Children

This shop is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent us their details, contact us and we will remove them.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. It is worth checking back from time to time.

Questions about your information?

Ask us anything about this policy, or tell us to update or delete your details — we will sort it out.
